NetOne, KIDZCAN Partnership Raises Hope for Children with Cancer Through Charity Golf Tournament

BULAWAYO – NetOne has reaffirmed its commitment to corporate social responsibility after successfully hosting the inaugural NetOne-KIDZCAN Charity Golf Tournament, an initiative aimed at supporting children battling cancer in Zimbabwe.

The tournament brought together corporate partners, golfers and community stakeholders, with proceeds and awareness efforts directed towards assisting KIDZCAN in its mission of improving the lives of children diagnosed with cancer.

Speaking after the event, NetOne Group Chief Executive Officer Engineer Raphael Mushanawani said the tournament demonstrated how sport can be used as a platform to transform lives.

“Our purpose here extends beyond golf. We are standing in solidarity with children fighting cancer and their families while showing that partnerships can bring real hope to those facing difficult circumstances,” he said.

Mushanawani praised KIDZCAN for its dedication to providing treatment support, advocacy, awareness campaigns and psychosocial care for children across the country.

He said NetOne remains committed to initiatives that improve communities, noting that the company’s role is not only to connect people through technology but also to create meaningful social impact.

The CEO highlighted that the event reflected the spirit of collaboration, with businesses and individuals joining hands to contribute towards a common humanitarian cause.

He also said NetOne’s community investment programmes align with the Government’s Vision 2030 agenda, which prioritises improved healthcare services, social inclusion and sustainable national development.

Drawing inspiration from the game of golf, Mushanawani said success requires patience, resilience and determination—the same qualities displayed every day by children undergoing cancer treatment.

He thanked sponsors, organisers, golfers and supporters whose contributions helped make the inaugural tournament a success, expressing confidence that the event would continue growing into one of Zimbabwe’s flagship charity sporting events.
